Proofs and justifications require students to explain their reasoning, thinking, and process in an ordered and logical way. This is a different kind of thinking than most students have practiced. Without the right guidance, it feels impossible.
Function fluency
Every course from Algebra II/Math III through Calculus assumes students can move between equations, graphs, tables, and words. Most students only have a solid understanding of one or two of those.
